An official business delegation of West Kazakhstan Region, led by the Regional Akim Nariman Turegaliyev, is conducting a working visit to the People’s Republic of China. As part of the visit, the Head of the Region held a meeting with the Governor of Liaoning Province, Wang Xinwei. The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People’s Republic of China provided facilitation in the organization of the event.

Liaoning Province, with a population of over 40 million, possesses significant industrial capacity and extensive expertise in the oil and gas sector — areas of strategic importance to West Kazakhstan Region as well. Furthermore, both regions share comparable prospects for the development of the agricultural sector. Nariman Turegaliyev expressed confidence that, within the framework of the “golden 30th anniversary” of Kazakhstani-Chinese relations, interregional cooperation will advance to a qualitatively new level. The Akim noted that, under the leadership of the heads of the two states, the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China continues to strengthen and to be enriched with new substance.

“Acting on the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, we continue to improve the investment climate of the region and to create new opportunities for interested companies. In partnership with Chinese investors, projects are currently being implemented for the construction of a liquid methanol production plant, a cement factory, a gas turbine power station, and a wind power plant, along with a number of other significant initiatives. A special economic zone has been established for investors prepared to create employment and develop manufacturing,” stated Nariman Turegaliyev.

For his part, Governor of Liaoning Province Wang Xinwei reaffirmed his commitment to the further development of interregional cooperation.

“President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping has consistently emphasized that the strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan is founded on mutual trust. In recent years, ties between Liaoning Province and Kazakhstan have been considerably strengthened. In the previous year, the volume of bilateral trade reached 2.7 billion yuan. Your participation in the International Forum of Sister Cities reflects a sincere commitment to the pursuit of shared goals,” said Wang Xinwei.

The Chinese side also expressed its interest not only in further strengthening friendly ties and expanding industrial cooperation, but also in broadening cultural and humanitarian collaboration within the framework of the China-Kazakhstan Year of Culture.
