The delegation, led by the Governor (Akim) of the West Kazakhstan Region, Nariman Turegaliev, made a working visit to the Republic of Korea and held a number of business meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

First, a meeting with Korean business representatives was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Korea. At the meeting, the regional governor, Nariman Turegaliev, noted the importance of such dialogue platforms aimed to expanding partnership between the two countries. In his speech, the governor also highlighted the geographic and economic advantages of the West Kazakhstan region, noting the high transit potential of the region, which borders the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, and Orenburg regions of the Russian Federation.

«Today, we arrived in the Republic of Korea as a special delegation from the West Kazakhstan Region. First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Nurgali Arystanov, for his support in organizing this meeting. Attracting investment is one of our primary goals. Work has now begun with Korean investors in several areas. During this visit, we plan to hold talks with companies that have expressed interest in cooperation and to present the region’s economic potential», said the regional governor, adding that cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries are also actively developing.

A number of major Korean companies participated in the business meeting, including DL Co., Ltd. (DL GFRP), Daocle1, Flow & Buoyancy Hydroelectric Power Generation System, Manseung Energy, and Global Defense/Defense Global Kazakhstan LLP. The parties discussed joint projects in industry, processing, agriculture, healthcare, the environment, and investment.

The delegation from the West Kazakhstan region included: Abzal Braliev, head of the regional veterinary department; Nurzhan Utepbayev, head of the department of entrepreneurship and industrial-innovative development; Marat Muldashev, head of the department of natural resources and environmental management; Yerzhan Dosmakov, Chairman of the Board of «Aqjaiyq» JSC; Almaz Pishenbayev, deputy director of «Oral Taza Service» LLP; and Zhanargul Dyusenova, general director of «Medical Solutions» LLP.

The meetings held during the visit are expected to give impetus to the development of bilateral economic and technological cooperation.
